Black Pepper Bacon Jam Cornbread March 03 2014


  • 4 oz The Bacon Jams Black Pepper Spreadable Bacon
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt


Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Grease a segmented baking pan. Heat the butter until melted and pour into a mixing bowl. Mix in sugar before the butter cools. Beat in eggs until well blended. Next stir in buttermilk and baking soda. Fold in cornmeal, flour, and salt until well blended and few lumps remain. Finally, mix in The Bacon Jams Black Pepper Bacon Spread. Pour batter into the pan. Throw the pan in the oven for 30 minutes or until cooked through (use the toothpick trick).

Note: If you prefer a sweeter option for the cornbread, use The Bacon Jams All Original Spreadable Bacon in place of Black Pepper.
