Bacon Jam Infused Hummus Recipe December 09 2013, 0 Comments

Let’s face it hummus is delicious, but the vegetarians have been acting like its all theirs for far too long… We are taking it back! (Although we may just be taking it, because I don’t know that we even had it.)

Ingredients

  • 1 lb wet chickpeas (I actually prefer to soak them myself, but I am a weirdo)
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp tahini
  • ¼ cup brine  (either from the chickpea can or from your soaking liquid.)
  • 4 oz The Bacon Jams Red Chile and Garlic Spreadable Bacon

Preparation

I want it now! version:

Place all ingredients into a food processor and blend until smooth. Place in bowl and serve with flatbread.


Beautiful until your guests attack it version:

Place all ingredients except The Bacon Jams Red Chile and Garlic Spreadable Bacon into a food processor and blend until smooth. Place in bowl and swirl in The Bacon Jams Red Chile and Garlic Spreadable Bacon. Serve with flatbread or chips.


The host with the most version:

Place all ingredients except The Bacon Jams Red Chile and Garlic Spreadable Bacon into a food processor and blend until smooth. Dollop the hummus on to pita chips and then top with a smaller dollop of The Bacon Jams Red Chile and Garlic Spreadable Bacon.

 

Garnish all three versions with paprika to make them pop, but please warn your vegetarian friends that this is not their kind of hummus.
